Types and characteristics of commonly used humic acids.

Currently, humic acids commonly used as fertilizers are classified into humic acids derived from lignite, humic acids derived from eroded coal, and peat (grassland humic acids).


1. Humic acids in lignite are products of the second stage (diagenesis) of the coal formation process. Humic acids are no longer present at the bituminous coal stage. The humic acid content in lignite generally ranges from 1 to 85%. The appearance of lignite is divided into brown and brown.

(1) Earthy lignite: The degree of carbonization is shallow, the carbon content is low, and the humic acid content is high, generally above 40%.

(2) Light lignite: The degree of carbonization is deeper, the carbon content is high, and the humic acid content is low, generally 1 to 10%.

(3) Dense lignite: Between (1) and (2), the humic acid content can generally reach about 30%.


2. Degraded coal humic acid is an outcrop of coal, commonly known as charcoal. Generally, lignite, bituminous coal, and anthracite near or exposed on the surface of the earth are formed by the infiltration and erosion of air, sunlight, rain, snow, wind, sand, ice, etc. The humic acid produced by this process is converted into decomposed coal humic acid, also known as natural regenerated humic acid. The humic acid content in weathered coal varies greatly, ranging from 5 to 80%.


3. Peat (peat, peat, etc.) humic acid

Peat is the early stage of coal formation and is also known as peat. The humic acid content in Chinese peat is 20 to 40%. The organic matter of peat consists of undecomposed plant waste and humic acid. The humic acid content in Chinese peat ranges from 20 to 40%.
